Noida Men Face Backlash for Midnight Car Stunt with 'Squid Games' Song

Three men in Noida have faced severe criticism from netizens after performing a dangerous car stunt at midnight while playing the popular 'Squid Games' song. The incident, which took place in the early hours of January 3, 2025, has sparked a debate about road safety and the influence of social media trends on reckless behavior.

The trio, driving a Delhi-registered Toyota Fortuner SUV, decided to recreate a scene from the hit Korean series 'Squid Games' by performing stunts around a roundabout. In one of the videos that surfaced online, a man can be seen sitting on the SUV's windshield while two others cling to the doors. The 'round and round' song from the show played in the background, adding to the spectacle.

However, their actions did not go unnoticed. Netizens quickly took to social media to condemn the men for flouting traffic and safety rules. Many criticized them for endangering themselves and others, and for promoting dangerous behavior. The Noida police also took swift action, issuing a fine of ₹33,000 to the vehicle owner for various violations, including dangerous driving, disobedience of the law, driving without valid insurance, using tinted glass, and not wearing seat belts.

One user commented, "33k fine isn't enough for offenders with a Fortuner. Punishment should be stricter to deter wrongdoing." Another wrote, "What is wrong with them? They are following their leaders and film stars." A third user added, "These three would happily accept the INR 33,000 challan for this stunt because they have got the desired recognition."

The incident has raised questions about the influence of social media trends on young people and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws. Many believe that such stunts should not be taken lightly and that stricter punishments are necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The Noida police have urged the public to report any such activities and have promised to take strict action against those who flout the rules. They have also advised people to be responsible and to avoid engaging in dangerous activities for the sake of social media fame

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether this incident will lead to any changes in the enforcement of traffic laws or in the way social media trends are handled. For now, the three men involved in the stunt have learned a costly lesson about the consequences of their actions.

What do you think about this incident? Do you think stricter punishments are needed to deter such behavior?
